Meet Your Assistant Coaches!

10U - Nic Dutton - A child of the military, Nic traveled everywhere and joined in whatever youth hockey was available: rec, outdoor shinny, pond, and roller hockey. As an adult, Nic played with the US Army AK team. His coaching experience has been solely with MHA, from 8U Reds, 10U/12U House, and 10U Comp. 

12U - Jesse Johnson played for MHA for 6 years.  An Eagle River native, he played for and graduated from Eagle River High School. Jesse played for the Matsu-Eagles 16U AAA, Alaska Jr. Aces 18U AAA, tendered NAHL, spent 2 years with the Great Falls Americans in the NA3HL, and is the reigning MAC Cup Champion. This past year he returned to his alma mater and was an assistant coach for Eagle River High School's Varsity squad.

14U - Hayden McAleavey brings positivity and energy to the roster. An Eagle River native, Hayden played hockey for South Central Wolves and Captained the team to a State Championship and 2nd place Regional finish. He also played at Chugiak High School and the University of Idaho. His most recent contribution to youth hockey is coaching the U14/U16 Fairbanks Arctic Lions to a State Championship. 

14U - Sutton McDonald played for MHA for 10 years. An Eagle River High School graduate and player, he went on to play for two years in the NAHL with the Kenai River Brown Bears and one year with the Wilkes-Barre Knights.

14U - Connor Canterbury played for MHA for 10 years and also for Eagle River High School. He played for the Utica Comets for a year in NCDC, in the NAHL for one year with the Kenai River Brown Bears, and finally for St. Olaf College, D3 NCAA.
